Helder Santos (CEGOT / Universidade do Porto) presented at the 2019 Regional Studies Association (RSA) Annual Conference in Santiago de Compostela, the communication "Global emergence of new technologies: a dynamic analysis of territorial knowledge communities and relational proximity in wave energy." This study, co-authored by Teresa Sá Marques, Margarida Fontes, Cristina Sousa e Nuno Bento, analyses the structure and dynamics of the territorial knowledge communities engaged in the development of wave energy technologies (based on data on the RTD projects funded at European level since the early 90s) and investigates how they shaped the process of technology emergence.
